2026 INTERNATIONAL KONYA 5 KM ROAD RUNNING STATUS

• The competition will be held in accordance with the Turkish Athletics Federation and WA competition rules.

• Foreign athletes will be able to participate in the competitions provided that their Turkish visas have not expired and they submit their passports.

• Foreign athletes will not be awarded prize money in the 5 Km Road Running.

• No private vehicles will be permitted to drive alongside athletes during the competition. Only authorized vehicles will be allowed on the track.

• The necessary health and safety measures, preparation of the race course, provision of bib numbers, and installation of the chip system for the race will be provided by KONYA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY, the organizer of the race.

• The entire organization belongs to KONYA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY, and technical matters are under the supervision of the Turkish Athletics Federation and the Konya Provincial Athletics Representation.

• Athletes participating in the competition and placing in the rankings must wear the uniform designated by the organization at the awards ceremony, reflecting the significance and importance of the day.

• Information regarding the distribution of bib numbers and race kits will be announced on our website in the coming days. Collective number distribution will not be made and the organization officials should not be insisted on.

• Half marathon participants must have completed the age of 16 as of May 3, 2026.

• Athletes participating in the competition shall be deemed to have read and accepted the following statement on the registration page.

• The responsibility during the activity belongs entirely to the participants. Participants will fill in a consent form at the time of registration.

“I, the undersigned, on behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, personal and legal representatives, hereby accept that the organizers, persons in charge of the organization, and representatives of the organization shall not be held liable for any injury, damage, or death that may occur before, during, or after the 2026 ”May 3 Konya Half Marathon" event and all responsibility lies with me; I have no medical contraindications for participating in this race, and I am physically fit to participate in this race. I also give permission for any photographs and film recordings taken of me during the 2026 “May 3 Konya Half Marathon” to be used for all legal purposes, including advertising. I declare that if I do not attend the organization for any reason after registering to attend the organization, I will not claim the rights I have obtained through this registration."

 

TIMEKEEPING

•Timekeeping will be made with the chips to be given to the competitors.

The time limit for the race is 180 minutes for the half marathon.

* Ranking will be based on “Gun Time” in the Overall Classification.

 

GATHERING PLACE

•Competitors will gather in front of the Mevlana Cultural Center, the starting point for the races, before the competition.

 

 

DISQUALIFICATION

 

Bib number is not transferable to others. Deviating from the race route, changing the route, failing to wear the bib number at chest level, and transferring the bib number to others will result in disqualification. Athletes who do not pass through the checkpoints on the course will be disqualified. The race will be monitored by cameras at certain points along the course. The technical rules of the event will be applied in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Athletics Federation and the WA regulations.

No athletes will be admitted to the “start area” after the race has started.

 

 

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

 

•Participants are advised not to bring money, watches and other valuables with them. The organizing committee is not responsible for lost valuables. The organizing committee considers all participants to have read and accepted the declaration on the registration form.

 

AWARDS

 

•Specially designed medals, trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to everyone who takes the podium in the Women's and Men's Overall Categories.

• In the 5 Km road race, the top 3 athletes in the overall classification will be eligible to take the podium.

• Awards will be given only to the top 15 athletes among Turkish competitors in the overall classification of the 5 Km Road Race.

• The scope of the prizes will also be announced on the event website.

AGE GROUPS

 

• There will be no age category in the 5 Km Road Race.

 

WARNINGS

 

• All information specified about the organization can be changed by the administration (for example; route, date, chip distribution area, etc.). All information about possible changes will be announced through social media accounts and the event website.

 

• The time allowed for objections after the International Konya Half Marathon is 7 working days. Participants shall have no right to object if this period is exceeded.
