DOSD Meram, a center providing community-based services to individuals with Down Syndrome and their families; was established under the leadership of Meram Municipality, in partnership with Necmettin Erbakan University and the Provincial Directorate of National Education, and continues to develop with the support of Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Selçuk University. 

General Objectives of the Center;

To improve the quality of life of individuals with Down Syndrome,

To ensure that their families act consciously in supporting their children's development,

To contribute to their psycho-motor skills,

To develop their self-care, daily life, and social living skills,

To enhance their cognitive and academic abilities,

To support behavioral control and reduce problematic behaviors,

To improve self-monitoring skills by increasing cognitive awareness,

To advance communication and language skills,

To develop cooperation skills…

On the other hand, through the DOSD Meram Sports Club established within the center, individuals’ physical development is supported while strengthening team spirit and social adaptation skills; vocational employment efforts support individuals in becoming active and independent members of the workforce by participating in production; meanwhile, parents have the opportunity to spend productive time and enhance their social interaction through handicraft courses offered in cooperation with the Public Education Center while waiting for their children.

DOSD Meram is based on an early education approach and a holistic service model grounded in collaboration among stakeholders. In the education model, which centers on interdisciplinary cooperation in line with the initial performance determined by professionals; effective teaching techniques recorded through observations, checklists, rubrics, and instructional charts of professional educators are utilized. The program is built on collaboration among special education, psychological counseling, educational programs, child development, basic education, sports sciences, and arts; and an interdisciplinary approach is adopted in areas required for development based on each individual's performance.

And all of these are made possible through the support of Meram Municipality, project stakeholders, and donations from benefactors.
